 Craven
World Campground is located on the Qu'Appelle River in a peaceful, picturesque,
private, and serene setting in the Qu'Appelle Valley 1/4 mile from Craven
Saskatchewan.

The
town of Craven, formerly called Sussex, was established in 1882. Craven
is a busy prairie town with a Post Office, Bakery "fresh bread daily",
Restaurant, Motor Inn, Real Estate and Insurance Agency. There is also
a full service gas station with gas, diesel, and propane available, as
well as stores offering antiques, groceries, and liquor.
The
Craven Country Jamboree
runs July 10 - 13, 2008. Craven
World Campground is located within walking distance of the Jamboree grounds.
Harness racing starts the last Sunday of July and continues each Sunday
until September.
Other
attractions in the Valley include riding stables, 2 golf courses complete
with driving range and clubhouse. Last Mountain Lake is just 10 minutes
away and there you will find fishing, boating, and swimming.
Just
down the road, the town of Lumsden offers essentials such as a Doctor,
Dentist, Pharmacy, Bank, RCMP detachment, Laundry mat, and Information
Centre. There is also other attractions such as a Museum, Art Gallery,
Bed and Breakfast, and Restaurants.
Some
of the other area attractions in the area include:
- Canada's first
national bird sanctuary, established in 1887.
- The Kennel Anglican
Church built at the turn of the century.
- The Last Mountain
Trading Post built by The Hudson's Bay Company in 1869.
- Market Gardens
between Craven and Lumsden offer fresh produce all summer.
